Regardless of where you live in the United States, chances are that women outnumber men within that county. According to the 2013 Population Estimates by the U.S. Census Bureau, there are 3,143 counties in the United States and 1,977 of them have more women than men. That is nearly 63% of the counties that have a female majority. Eight counties were tied, having equal number of men and women.
The county with the highest percentage is Franklin County, VA at nearly 56% and the county with the largest population of men is Aleutians East Borough in Alaska with a whopping 62% men.
